As Ontario’s Military Defence Representative, Bernie works to strengthen connections between government, industry, and defence stakeholders, helping to advance opportunities for Ontario companies within Canada’s defence sector while supporting economic growth, innovation, and job creation across the province.
During the visit, Bernie toured the facility, met with members of the SEA Canada team, and learned more about the advanced manufacturing capabilities being established in Ottawa. Discussions focused on the importance of building a stable and resilient industrial manufacturing base and supply chain in Ontario to support Canada’s long-term defence and security requirements.

With growing demand for sovereign capability, trusted suppliers, and domestic production capacity, a strong Ontario manufacturing ecosystem plays a critical role in ensuring Canada can deliver and sustain key defence technologies while creating high-value skilled jobs and innovation. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of continued collaboration between industry, government, and regional partners to strengthen the province’s defence industrial base.
The visit also highlighted the expertise and dedication of SEA Canada’s employees and the broader capabilities of the SEA Group, demonstrating how investment in advanced manufacturing and skilled talent can contribute to a more secure and resilient Canadian supply chain.
SEA Canada extends its thanks to Bernie Derible for the visit and to all team members who helped showcase the innovation, expertise, and commitment that underpin the company’s growing presence in Ontario.
